Browse Paint Colors by Brand

Pick a brand card to open that brand's colors. Each card is one brand in this catalog, with its region and how many of its colors are included. Inside a brand, search by name or code, or browse by undertone or A–Z. The catalog currently holds 41,452 colors across 18 brands.

About this directory

Every swatch links to the Paint Color Matcher, which finds the closest equivalent color in every other brand using CIE Lab color distance.

How the paint brands directory works

This directory is the index of paint brands in the DigiTool Shed color catalog. It does not mix the brands into one search box. You pick a brand first, then you search or browse inside that brand's own colors. If you already know a color name and do not care which brand it came from, the Paint Color Matcher is the faster start. If you want a short set of widely known names rather than a full brand list, use Popular Paint Colors.

How to use it. Each card is one brand. The badge on the card is that brand's region label from the catalog: North America, UK & Europe, or Australia. The line under the name is how many of that brand's colors are in the catalog. Tap the card. On the brand page, the filter box matches a color name or a color code as you type. By undertone groups the colors from neutrals onward through the hue spectrum. A–Z lists them alphabetically. Open a group, then tap a color. The panel shows tints, shades, and same-undertone pairings that are other colors from that same brand's catalog. They are not invented shades. The link labeled Find cross-brand matches opens the Paint Color Matcher on that color so you can see the nearest colors in the other brands.

Worked example. You want to browse Sherwin-Williams rather than search the whole catalog. On this directory, tap the Sherwin-Williams card. On the brand page, leave By undertone selected if you are wandering, or type a code or a partial name into the filter if you already have one. The status line under the filter reports how many colors match what you typed. A group with no remaining matches is left off the page. Tap a swatch that is still showing. Read the pairings in the panel before you leave. If the pairing you like is from the same brand, you can stay there. If you need the same idea in a brand you can actually buy locally, use Find cross-brand matches and compare the other brands' names and codes. "Buy locally" here means a brand you choose to shop for. This directory does not know which store is near you.

Tips. Screen swatches are not paint chips. Finish, sheen, and the wall itself change how a color reads, so check a physical sample before you buy. The region badge is where that brand's colors are grouped in this catalog. It is not a store locator and it does not say a color is in stock. Color names and codes on these pages are trademarks of their owners. DigiTool Shed is not affiliated with or endorsed by any paint manufacturer. The same disclaimer sits on the brand page. If a brand you expected is missing, it is not in this catalog yet. The directory only lists brands the catalog actually contains. Searching inside a brand will not find a color that belongs to a different brand. Switch back to this directory, or use the Paint Color Matcher, to cross that line.

What the brand page will not do. It will not tell you how much paint to buy, which sheen to use, or how long a coat takes to dry. Those questions belong to the Paint Coverage Calculator, the Paint Finish Selector, and the Paint Drying Time Calculator. It will not generate a fake color to fill a gap. If the filter says nothing matches, that name or code is not in that brand's catalog here. Try another spelling, drop the code and search the name alone, or search the other brands from the matcher.

Paint brands directory FAQ

What does a brand card open?

That brand's own colors. You can filter by name or code, switch between By undertone and A–Z, and open a color to see other colors from the same catalog.

What does the region badge mean?

It is the catalog's region label for that brand: North America, UK & Europe, or Australia. It is not a store locator and it does not say a color is in stock.

Are the tints and shades generated?

No. Tints, shades, and undertone pairings on a brand page are other colors from that brand's own catalog.

How do I find the same color in another brand?

Open the color, then use Find cross-brand matches. That opens the Paint Color Matcher, which compares the color with the other brands in the catalog.

What if I know the color name but not the brand?

Start at the Paint Color Matcher and search by name. This directory is for browsing one brand at a time. Popular Paint Colors is a short list of widely known names if you want somewhere in between.

Is DigiTool Shed affiliated with these paint brands?

No. Color names and codes are trademarks of their owners. DigiTool Shed is not affiliated with or endorsed by any paint manufacturer.
