How Etsy fees work
Etsy charges a listing fee per item (multiplied by quantity if you renew on each sale), a 6.5% transaction fee on your item price plus the shipping you charge the customer, and a payment processing fee — typically around 3% plus a small fixed fee — applied to item price, shipping, and any sales tax collected. If you run Offsite Ads and a sale comes through that channel, Etsy also takes an additional percentage, commonly 12–15% depending on your shop's trailing 12-month sales.
This calculator separates each of those charges into its own editable field so you can match your shop's actual rates instead of relying on generic defaults. The "More options" panel covers listing fee, transaction rate, payment processing rate and fixed fee, the renew-per-quantity toggle, and the Offsite Ads toggle and rate — update them whenever your shop's fee schedule or region changes.
These figures are an estimate for planning purposes, not an official Etsy payout statement — actual fees vary by shop, region, payment method, and current Etsy policy. Etsy is a trademark of its owner; DigiTool Shed is not affiliated with or endorsed by Etsy.

Etsy fee calculator FAQ
How are Etsy fees calculated?
This calculator estimates a listing fee, a transaction fee on item price plus shipping, a payment processing percentage and fixed fee, and optional Offsite Ads fees. All defaults are editable because real charges vary by shop, region, and current Etsy policies.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Etsy commonly applies its transaction fee to the item price plus the shipping charged to the customer. This calculator includes shipping in the transaction fee base, so entering the correct buyer-facing shipping amount keeps the estimate accurate.
Are Offsite Ads included?
Offsite Ads are optional here. Leave the toggle off when they do not apply, or turn it on and enter your applicable rate — commonly 12% or 15% depending on your shop's trailing 12-month sales — to include an estimate for that order.
Does this include taxes?
Sales tax is editable and defaults to 0. Marketplaces may collect and remit sales tax separately. In this calculator, tax is included in the payment processing fee base only, not in the transaction fee base.
Why is my actual payout different?
Actual payouts can differ because of regional payment rates, VAT, currency conversion, refunds, coupons, ads, subscription costs, tax handling, and Etsy policy changes. Use this calculator as a planning estimate and confirm exact figures against your shop's payment records.
